Migrant Workers Registration – Interstate Travel During Lockdown
Earlier Lockdown was to be over on 17th May but now it has been extended till 31st May. All the migrant workers wanted to go back to their homes. Now the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the notice which now allows states for stranded migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students to result in their home states or union territories. Earlier Interstate movement of people stranded in the respective states and union territories will be on the consent of the states. But now central Government has instructed that all the workers who are stuck in different states should be sent back to their states with complete protection. So, all the trapped people must be registered the application form through online mode official web site after the official declaration of their state. The Ministry of Home Affairs orders strictly stated that stranded people would be allowed to travel with the condition during the lockdown period. Covid 19 National Portal: Interstate Travel During Lockdown
All the migrant worker who works in other states are stuck in different states due to the lockdown that was imposed due to pandemic COVID 19. All workers are helpless and want to return home. Few workers are forced to live in shelter homes and few are on roads. Looking at the plight of workers Union Government is going to launch the online portal i.e. COVID 19 National Portal for migrant workers working in an unorganized sector. All those who are stuck in other states can register themselves on this portal and the government will arrange the interstate travel during lockdown keeping the health the first priority so all the screening will be done beforehand. It has been instructed that all those who are traveling should have Aarogya Setu App installed on their phones.
MHA Guidelines for Interstate Movement
Ministery of Home Affairs has announced that they will allow the Interstate Movement of Migrant workers. MHA has released few guidelines that everyone has to follow.
- All the state and Union Territory should Designate the Nodal Authorities.
- Busses will be used as a mode of transport.
- All the busses will be sanitized properly and social Distancing should be kept in mind while travelling
- The states must have a mutual agreement for the interstate movement.
- All those who are travelling will be screened first and if there are any symptoms will be allowed to move but as soon as they reach the destination they will be home quarantined and all the necessary tests will be done.
- On arrival, all the people will be home Quarantined for few days. (If isolation center not available)

How to Register Online for Migrant Workers Interstate Travel
Step 1: Firstly visit the Your State Portal for Covid 19 Migrant Returnee. (Check From Table)
Step 2: On the Home Page, click on “Registration for Migrant Worker Interstate Travel”.
Step 3: Click on Apply now and enter your Contact Number.
Step 4: Enter OTP and fill the complete form.
Step 5: Upload your documents and click on the submit button.
Step 6: Your application will be successfully submitted take a printout of the form.
